Wisconsin Beer Brats - 2020

INGREDIENTS
PREPARATION
Place brats and onions in a dutch oven and pour in enough beer to cover them. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Turn heat off and leave the brats in the beer mixture another 15 minutes. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill brats until golden brown and return to beer mixture until ready to serve.
Be sure to use the cooked onions as a topping for your brats! Oh sure, you betcha!
- 10 bratwurst (about 2 pounds)
- 1 large onion, quartered or sliced
- 3 to 4 (12 oz.) cans beer
- 10 brat buns
- Cooked onions, sauerkraut, spicy brown mustard, ketchup, etc. for toppings.
