Appetizers & Starters

Sweet Onion Dip – 2014
Recipe courtesy of Ginny Shonk

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup chopped Vidalia onion - or other sweet yellow onion
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese or shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste

PREPARATION
Combine all ingredients and place in small baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with Triscuits or other hearty cracker.

Notes from Joan: I have doubled this recipe very successfully! Also, I prefer to use Parmesan. Personally, I think it could use another clove of garlic, but that just depends on your own taste. Finally, I usually use Hellman's Light mayonnaise.
