Main Dishes

Beef and Noodles - 2002

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 pounds  stew beef
  • 2 tablespoons  oil
  • 4 cups  water
  • 2 cloves  garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 medium  onion
  • 1 tablespoon  salt
  • 1 tablespoon  lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon  sugar
  • 1 teaspoon  Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon  paprika
  • 1 teaspoon  pepper
  • 1 dash  allspice or cloves (we use cloves)
  • 1 package  egg noodles

PREPARATION
Slowly brown beef in oil. Add remaining ingredients - except noodles. Simmer for at least 3 hours. Add noodles one hour before serving.

Try with 
Egg Noodles by Grandma Dunn.

Serve over mashed potatoes.
Beef can be 1-2 pounds. Garlic cloves can be 1-2 as well as the bay leaves.
